Babywise Update (April 1, 2025)
Why the New Babywise Sleep Solutions Series was Created
In response to evolving parenting needs and the growing number of unofficial Babywise websites, Gary Ezzo, content author and originator of the “Feed-Wake-Sleep” newborn strategy, has released a revised and updated version of the beloved On Becoming Babywise series. This post explains the transition to Babywise Sleep Solutions, the reasons behind the change, and what new parents can expect from the updated and more focused Babywise Sleep Solutions edition
Concerns About Third-Party Babywise Parenting Advice
The website Babywise.Life, though once linked with the Babywise name, was not developed by Gary Ezzo or Dr. Robert Bucknam. Rather, it was initiated by independent investors with expertise in digital marketing. What began as a well-meaning attempt to support new parents and promote principles aligned with the Babywise message eventually expanded beyond the original vision and oversight of its authors.
By May 2024, both Mr. Ezzo and Dr. Bucknam became increasingly aware of a concerning trend. Over the decades of Babywise global success, a number of websites and social media groups had begun offering parenting advice under the Babywise banner—advice that, in many cases, did not reflect the authors’ intended values or medically-informed guidance. Out of a desire to protect parents and preserve the integrity of the message, the decision was made to close Babywise.Life in August 2024.
Why the Original Babywise Series Was Retired
Although Gary Ezzo had input in the decision to close Babywise.Life, he held neither the legal authority nor personal desire to intervene with the many independent Babywise-inspired platforms. However, out of sincere concern for the quality and accuracy of advice being shared, especially that which lacked medical context, Dr. Bucknam felt compelled to withdraw his name and formal endorsement from the Babywise brand. The Ezzos fully understand and appreciate Dr. Bucknam’s position and, in many respects, concur with that decision.
Introducing the Babywise Sleep Solutions Series
In light of these developments in 2024, Gary and Anne Marie Ezzo made the decision to close the chapter on the original On Becoming series. In its place, and re-launched an updated series under the banner: Begin As You Mean To Go.
The first release in this new collection, Babywise Sleep Solutions, has already replaced the classic On Becoming Babywise. Coming in Spring 2025, the next title Babywise 2: Parenting Your 5 to 12-Month-Old will be available in bookstores and online. These books maintain the trusted Babywise core values and principles while offering clearer structure, updated guidance, and simplified sleep training for modern parents.
A Note About Dr. Bucknam
Though Dr. Bucknam has stepped away from the Babywise label, the Ezzos continue to hold their past partnership and the original shared vision in high regard. Should he decide to write his own parenting or infant care book in the future, we are confident it will serve as a trustworthy resource for new parents.
For the Ezzos, in their quiet parting, there only remains the soft echoes of gratitude for a mutually shared dream that came true: that being: placing the original Preparation For Parenting (1986) principles into as many hands as possible. The way they did it was through Babywise. Not only was this accomplished worldwide, but the dream continues to live on with the new Babywise Sleep Solutions and the subsequent titles that follow.
New Website for Babywise Parenting Resources
The official Babywise website is now: www.Childwise.Life
This new platform offers trusted parenting resources, book updates, and clear guidance on the Babywise method.
In Summary: The Dream Continues
The transition from On Becoming Babywise to the new Babywise Sleep Solutions is not the end—it’s a refinement. It ensures that the Babywise message remains consistent, medically sound, and genuinely helpful to the next generation of parents. As the Ezzos continue the journey, their mission remains unchanged: to equip parents with time-tested tools for raising healthy, secure, and sleep-happy children and sleep happy parents.
